I have mangled the definitions from Cynthia Brewer’s colorbrewer2 for use in LaTeX documents using either TiKz or PGF via \definecolor or in PGFPlots via a /pgfplots/colormap definition. Colors can be used individually or as part of a sequence. The list of all colors and what they look like is provided in a preview file.
At the time of writing it’s very hacked together, but I’ll eventually update it so it looks more aesthetically pleasing. If you find it useful please let me know.
